Polevoj

Predial spirit of the folklore of Old Slavs, whose physical description varies from place to place. Sometimes described as a man dressed in white, had a grass instead of hair and sometimes he is represented as a dwarf whose face was the color of earth. They jealously protect their habitat so passengers who lodged in the field, or a drunkard who falls asleep in a field, are killed by Polevloj.
